Margarita Romero, single mother, immigrant, domestic survivor finds help through a shelter called 'Su Casa', translating directly: your house. In 'Su Casa,' an original church that was constructed to hold volunteers has about 12 bedrooms and can uptown three families of single mothers, with a group of volunteers. Located in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, 'Su Casa' and the children are protected by the house and its volunteers.
Romero has struggled to get her life back together after an abusive relationship. She says it's difficult to find a job when there is no child care services provided by the church to find a job.
