The segregation of Chicago is evident through the borders created by the neighborhoods that define themselves either Hispanic, Black, Asian or White. Humboldt Park is known to hold a large Puerto Rican population, within this population the people hold themselves to stay true to its community that has now been recognized and beginning to go through a phenomenon known as gentrification. The most popular street has store fronts that make its community members feel at home. Whether the panaderia is open, or a barbershop that is openly connected to a boutique that has the miracle jeans to lift up one's glutes, North Avenue and the people of the  community holds true the rejection and never ending cycle to keep the Latino roots alive.
