Maria Alejandra Cardona, born in Venezuela, raised in Miami, Florida, her culture was strongly based on immigration and language barriers; she began to explore how to document the world and untold narratives by immersing herself in various cultures through the learning of three languages, connecting with minority communities in story-telling, and traveling from a young age. 

Maria expresses who she is within the portraits of her subjects and narratives.

Maria has obtained a bachelors in multimedia photojournalism from Columbia College Chicago.
